Knowing your phone service providing company and that of a friend is important.

posted on 21 January 2011

I was very confused the other day when my boss left an order for me to contact his mobile phone service provider because he was experiencing problems with his phone especially when making calls and receiving calls. He never told me which service he was using at the moment and with so many service providing companies in this country, anyone in my position would have been as confused as I was. I had to ask around the office. I later had to contact T Mobile because I learned that this was his service provider from one colleague. The days we had only one service providing company in this country are long gone and people should at least learn their companies in order to ease their time whenever they want to contact their company. So many people do not know which service they are currently using, or which service their best friend is using in case you are required to help at one time or another. This is not good at all. Knowledge of the different companies is also good in case you want to switch to the best because their services and costs differ.

Its important to test an item before taking it home after purchase.

When purchasing items like a washing machine, many consumers do not take time to confirm if the machine is working before taking it home. As long as another person has a similar machine and it is working, we never bother to ascertain if the machine we are purchasing is actually working well, and when we realize it is faulty after its already at home, we get so frustrated an we start blaming retailers for the fault. These retailers get these items when they are still in their packages from manufacturers therefore it is really hard for the retailer to know if the item is working well or not. Its the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that what they are buying is good and its working as they want. Testing a machine before purchasing it will prevent the many conflicts that come about as a result of washing machine problems after purchase. Only then will the retailer know if actually the machine developed faults after it was used or it had problems from the factory point, then they will know the kind of compensation to give to the consumer.

Having trouble with my new iphone on orange

posted on 13 November 2010

I have recently purchased a new iphone on orange and have had it unlocked because i have 2 sim's i want to use in it. The other sim is an o2 sim card. I am having a fair bit of trouble though and i think i am confusing the phone by trying to use 2 different sim's in it. Every time i put the o2 card in the phone goes crazy! i have done some searching on problem with unlocked iphone 3gs but nothing comes up with the same sort of problems i am having. I have been to the orange shop but they refuse to deal with any problems i get using another sim in the phone. I have tried going to o2 but i have the same issue, ive not purchased the phone from them so they are not bothered about any problems. Nevermind the fact i am paying them in the way of credit being added to the sim. At this rate i may have to return the phone because it is vital i have access to both sims without having to carry both phones around.

Electronics can boggle me out of my mind!

I was organizing a little party with some friends. We planned on getting it caught on video to send to one of our friends who was assigned in Africa. I don't know who made me the sound system committee, but I ended up having to setup the electronics! It was a huge mistake. My first question was, how to connect audio receiver to tv. It was precisely what needed to be done so we could record the whole thing and watch at the same time. I don't know who finally figured it out. The party started and it was a blast. It was fun to watch ourselves guffawing over each others' jokes. Two weeks later, we got a message from our friend saying she loved the video and felt like she was with us during the whole time. She said that she was amazed at how we were able to setup electronics when we had not clue about it in the first place. She said that she was glad we did, though, because it reminded her of home and made her feel warm inside.

I blame my neighbour for my mental state.

If you go outside and listen, you will most likely hear birds. This is okay, but life isn't just about birds anymore. We're a new generation trying to leave our mark upon the world. We've got better toys than our predecessors. And I think they're angry about it. And to facilitate their anger, I wanted to let them hear our music over the birds. So when I came across a pamphlet that explained how to connect ipod to stereo, I was elated. I began plotting my evil plan to make the ole' skool listen to our generation. One day I will be in their shoes, but right now isn't that day. I decided to get loudspeakers just to make sure the music would be heard. And when I finally got everything connected, I flipped the switch, turned on my iPod and turned the volume all the way up. It was way too much for my neighbour to take. I had to answer to the police and that wasn't pleasant. So I guess you could say I was taught a lesson that day: Don't try to enforce my feelings upon my neighbours.
