Problems finding the help i need to claim.

I have been made redundant recently and i am looking to claim some jobseekers allowance. The problem I've got though is i have no idea how to go about this. I have never had to claim before so was a bit unsure, i was looking for some sort of benefits advice line i could call for advice but there doesn't seem to be one anywhere. I went into my local jobcentre but they were not a great deal of help, they just shoved some forms into my hands and sent me away. I thought this might be all i need but the forms are very complicated and i don't really have anyone to help me with them. I would have thought someone at the jobcentre would be able to sit down with me and go through them, they aren't very long so wouldn't take very long to do but would help me out immensely!. I am going to fill these in as best as i can and get them off and just hope that i haven't done anything wrong.
