Looking for some grant help and support

I am looking to get some alternative forms of energy in my house but i nee money to do it. I am looking ideally at solar power but the panes are stupidly expensive! there is no way i could have afforded them myself. I did an online search for grants for alternative energy but a lot available was for businesses and not for the home user it seems. I think it is crazy that in this world where everyone i worrying about global warming and stuff that they do not have any help available for people to save some money and the environment!. I will need to start the ball rolling on this soon ideally otherwise there wont be much point because of the winter coming. The main point of doing this was really to help the environment and not so much about the money i will save. I have tried contacting the energy supplier but they do not offer any kind of assistance for this type of thing they said. If i want my loft insulation then they can help with that which is a start i suppose but not great.
