Having a baby takes a toll on a family, especially on a marriage. Weeks of recovery and weeks of sleep deprivation make it hard to tend to one another’s needs. Every marriage can handle a small break from intimacy if there are enough margins in the relationship, but it is not wise to let too much time elapse before rekindling with your partner. As a woman, you may not feel very sexy after having a baby. It is important to your body image and to your relationship that you take responsibility for a healthy self image. Buy yourself some new bridal lingerie that makes you feel beautiful and attractive. Dress up during the day don’t just wear sweats. Let yourself buy new clothes if your old ones do not fit. Give yourself a break even if you lose the weight, you may forever be a different shape, and that is okay. If you do not have family in town, find a babysitter that you trust, and go out for a romantic dinn er. Spend that quality time alone together and rekindle the intimacy that your relationship deserves.
