There was a time in my life that I was not doing well. I had to drop out of college in order to take care of my mother who was terminally ill. She went to the doctor a few months ago and she had been diagnosed with cancer and she was supposed to go through intensive chemo therapy sessions. I got a job but I had to work part time because half of the time I was busy taking care of my mother who was not doing very well. When I went to apply for unemployment benefits, and they run my name through the system, they found out my mother has also been getting the benefits. That is when I asked them Can Unemployment Benefits Be Backdated? They told me that they can be backdated. It is because in order for anyone to get the benefits, they have to fill the forms on a weekly basis. My mother stopped getting the benefits because she could not make it to the offices, but their records showed that she was still eligible for benefits especially now that she was ill.
